For the study of the dynamics of natural systems, dendroecology is shown as a useful tool to calibrate the effects on natural vegetation of global change. But, in addition, the research group deals with forest systems based on ecophysiological aspects of tree or shrub species, with special attention to water relations in their adult and juvenile phases. The need to analyze the response of vegetation in episodes of extreme drought or the measurement of water stress in plants makes it necessary to integrate high precision and resolution climate information into this line of research.
